With this coming Monday being a long weekend, I thought I would share my suggestions for what to do with your family on Family Day.
No one wants to spend a lot of money when planning a day of activities, and the great thing is you don?t have to! Here are some fun activities that you and the family can do on Family Day without breaking budget:

Board games
This is a classic for all families. It is the easiest way to have fun and get a bit competitive. Good board games for the family include: UNO, Taboo, SORRY and Scrabble. Maybe even the Canadian Trivia Board Game if you want to keep it educational. ?

Movie Night
Who doesn?t like watching some movies and laughing with their family?
Having a movie night is the perfect way to spend the day with your family. Some good options that are currently playing in theatres include: ?Escape from Planet Earth? and ?Beautiful Creatures?.
If going to the theatre is too much work, pop some popcorn, turn up that surround system and enjoy a movie at home!

Overall, I think the best family time you can have over the long weekend is doing things where you can all talk to one another. These include activities like cooking, skating and shopping. Enjoying a drink or meal with your family will always turn out to be a good time.
As cheesy as this may sound, family time is the greatest when spent talking and truly enjoying each other?s presence. ?
