Accused man forged prescriptions for legal drugs

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Police say a man, who claims he fell on hard times, was trying to make a quick buck by selling legal meds. But the way he was selling it was illegal.

The man arrested claimed someone else told him to do it and told police that person would help him settle a debt.

Randy Sandon, 49, appeared in court Sunday for forging prescriptions for legal drugs.

Court records state a Lovelace pharmacist called police after Sandon brought in what workers knew was a fake prescription.

When Sandon came to pick it up, police were there.
????
The pharmacist says Sandon paid $200 for 150 pills of oxycodone hydrochloride and said that pharmacists had been warned to watch for forged prescriptions with a certain practitioner?s name.

?Mr. Sandon I am going to impose a bond of $5,000 cash or surety, while these matters pending you'll not possess any firearms or dangerous weapons you'll not return to the location of the alleged incident you'll not possess or consume any alcohol or illegal drugs,? Judge Henry Alaniz said.

Sandon allegedly told police he was getting the prescription for someone else and that he was out of work and needed money.
????
The state drug inspector was also notified of the incident.

No word on how many times Sandon had done this before.
